Hey folks! Here we are ready for our next trip. This is again a party time… maah birthday’ Last year we went to Goa for celebrating my birthday. This time we have 3 days and 2 nights only, so we have chosen Almora and Kausani which is in Uttarakhand. We both love the natural beauty so most of the time we prefer to go some place where we can capture nature with amazing sceneries, greenery, cozy weather. Due to Kausani’s natural beauty and landscapes, Mahatma Gandhi called this place “’Switzerland of India”.
Kausani is one of the most beautiful hill stations in Uttarakhand, India. It is famous for its scenic 300 km-wide panoramic views of Himalayas, lush green valley, pine tree forests. Nanda Devi, Trishul, and Panchachuli are the three peaks which make for a distinct view from Kausani. This place is blessed with many amazing attractions. A perfect place for honeymooners and nature lovers. This beautiful hill station offers sun rise view, sunset view and pictures perfect view of the Himalayas covered with snow.
So let’s start the journey. Our bag is ready and we will be traveling by train. We prefer to travel in the night so that we can save our traveling time.
We booked our ticket of Ranikhet Express which has the last station in Kathgodam. From Kathgodam we took the bus for Almora. We checked in our hotel and took our meal. Luckily got to see the “Nanda Devi Dola” event which is very famous in the region. From the very ancient time people believe in Nanda Devi and it’s a huge event there. This is a 7-day event usually. People come to attend this function from various places. You must check our video of Nanda Devi Dola event.
In the evening we enjoyed the weather in Almora and of course celebrated the birthday party there. The market in Almora closes at 8 pm but the restaurants remain open until 10 pm usually. We tried food in our hotel where we stayed. The food was nice.
Next day, we were refreshed and ready to travel to Kausani. We took a cab from Almora which was a sharing cab. So if you don’t have a big budget you can always prefer sharing option which will certainly save your pocket. The cab takes only two or two and a half an hour to reach Kausani from Almora and buses take three and half hour so we have chosen sharing cab which charged 250 INR each, where if you travel by bus the ticket fare is around 100 INR only.
It was the heavy rainy day. We wanted a adventures trip so we have chosen this destination in rainy season 🙂 With in two and half hour we reached Kausani and there we have reached in our hotel. You can find many hotels in Kausani in 800 – 1500 INR in off season and in season 1000 – 6000 INR. It’s a September starting so it’s an off season after mid of September, on-season will start and will remain until December. So choose this place according to your budget. Yes, Kausani is the place for who adore nature. If you like city life then this place is of course not for you because you don’t find city life there. We would prefer to choose a hotel where we found the nice view from your balcony so in case you find bad weather there you can enjoy your holiday from your hotel room too. After getting freshen up and breakfast we have booked a cab to visit Anasakti Ashram, the room where Gandhiji Stayed
Sumitranandan Pant Museum,
In this museum, you can find the huge collection of Sumitranandan Pant’s books in English and Hindi. This Museum has a wide range of his creative work, awards and letters. On Sumitranandan Pant birth day anniversary, every year a poetry discussion is organized in this museum.
Shawl Factory, On the way back from Baijnath Temple you will see this shawl factory. Where we explored making of woolens and how the workers use their machine. How woolen converts in a thread with different colors. It was amazing to experience watching this. Price of shawls starting from 500 rs and goes to thousands. The amount of effort for each product you will like it. You will fall in love with each shawl if you like art and craft.
Tea Garden and finally Baijnath Temple,
Baijnath is a place where you wouldn’t like to leave. It’s such a beautiful place where you can feel the cold air, the beauty of moving river nearby and the ancient Baijnath Temple. Everything was just amazing. It’s something that can’t be covered in words.
Baijnath temple is Lord Shiv Ji temple which is famous for the fulfillment of wishes and when peoples get their wishes fulfilled they come back to this place and offer a bell in the temple.
We didn’t want to go but we had to leave for our hotel. It was the really amazing day we traveled Almora to Kausani, then visited these beautiful places. When we reached our hotel we saw the city and it was brightening in the dark and it was just amazing. This experience we could not explain in words. We had the dinner in the hotel and surprisingly the food was exactly like home made food.
Till now we thought it was the amazing experience and beautiful memories we are going to take with us because we had to check out next day from Kausani to travel Delhi ( back to work ). But really it was not, because the things we saw next day made our holiday remarkable. when we opened our eyes around 4:30 in morning see what the view we saw:
This was like a dream we were feeling that we were on top of the clouds. We could see the Himalayas covered with snow. Clouds flying and of course sunrise, which we saw was the best experience.
We didn’t wanna miss the jungle walk in this beautiful weather and wanted to capture some beautiful memories with us.
We would feel very blessed because the weather we have experienced in the rainy season can’t possible for everyone. Here we are sharing our Memories in the video, must check out and yes if you are planning for a hill station, we would highly recommend this place.
If you feel to discuss something about this place or need any help to make this trip comment below, we would be happy to plan your trip.
